The University Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony celebrates outstanding achievement

Hosted at Wadham College by Dr Stephen Goss (Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Personnel and Equality) the 2014 University Apprenticeship Awards recognised the outstanding achievement of some of our youngest staff.

Kathryn Scott (Department of Engineering Science) and Benjamin Neal (Department of Computer Science) were jointly awarded this year’s Apprenticeship prize for outstanding contribution to their Departments objectives.

Dr Goss also presented Joshua Carr (IT Services) with his University Digital Media Production Apprenticeship completion certificate. After his 3 year apprenticeship Joshua has now stepped into a full time role in the department and is a key member of the production team.

University Apprenticeships currently include: Administration, Audio-Visual and Media, Building & Facilities maintenance, Customer Services, Finance & Accountancy, Human Resources, Health and Safety, IT, Laboratory Technicians and Mechanical Engineering Technicians.

2015 will see the launch of a revised framework of guidance that will further promote Apprenticeships across the university by introducing a more flexible and responsive approach that will better suit Department’s needs.
